Dr Jonathan Moss appointed as the new CEO of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

The Chairman and Board of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (LWC) are delighted to announce that Dr Jonathan Moss had been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of LWC effective April 1st 2008.

This follows the appointment of Ian Craig to a wider conservation development role across northern Kenya which will be executed via his new role as lead Strategic Advisor to the CEO's and Boards of LWC, the Northern Rangelands Trust and the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Jonathan is a highly regarded figure, both in Kenya and internationally, as an ecologist and conservation project manager. He has a Masters and a PhD from the University of Oxford where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. He brings strong administrative skills and leadership to LWC at an exciting point in its growth.

The appointment is in line with the strategic restructuring of the LWC approved by its Board on October 27th so as to strongly position the organisation for the next phase in its development as an internationally renowned leader in the field of wildlife conservation and related community development.

Jonathan has worked in Kenya since 1993 and has deep knowledge and experience of the conservation issues relevant to central and northern Kenya. He is a Kenyan citizen and is resident with his wife and three children in Meru District, Kenya.
