Lewa Safari Camp

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy re-invests all the profits generated from tourism into our core programmes. By staying in any one of our three properties you will help thousands of dedicated people from different backgrounds and cultures to improve their lives, give their children a future whilst at the same time ensuring Africa’s wildlife has a home and future. Through Lewa’s community programme these communities are able to access clean drinking water, affordable health care services and an education for their children. In this way a visit to Lewa is not only a memorable holiday but a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a difference.
The Lewa Safari Camp is ideally situated against a dramatic backdrop of the snow-covered Mt. Kenya, with the magnificent Northern Frontier District stretching out to the North. It offers spectacular scenery, superb game viewing and exciting activities for the discerning traveler. The camp has twelve permanent luxury tents comprising nine twin rooms, one double, two family/ triple tents and a handicap accessible tent. All these are fitted with en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water and flush toilets. .
The luxury tents are erected on a concrete base beneath red roofs and after an exciting day of viewing the big five and other wildlife on the conservancy, guests can either enjoy a cool drink close to home taking in the superb scenery, or to take a swim in the nearby pool.
The camp has a main lounge area where all meals are served and guests can interact next to the cozy fireplace before or after meals. Before it was converted into tented accommodation the camp was the old rhino sanctuary headquarters, the camp hosts are on hand to provide guests with an insight into this vibrant history.
